Liverpool Ladies have today completed the signing of United States U23 international Amanda Da Costa.
Dual national Da Costa, who was raised in New York by Portuguese parents, joins the Reds after a season with Boston Breakers in the Women's Premier Soccer League.
A proven goalscorer, the energetic midfielder will bring a new dimension to the Ladies' attacking set-up.
"I am thrilled to be joining a club with such a unique culture and history," Da Costa told Liverpoolfc.com shortly after completing her move.
"Being surrounded by the standard of excellence here at Liverpool is an amazing opportunity for any footballer and I am eager to start the season with my new teammates."
Da Costa played four years at Florida State University in the Atlantic Coast Conference and was awarded the 'Soccer Buzz National Freshman of the Year' in 2007.
She has represented the US at U17, U20 and U23 level and while part of the U20 squad played a key role in helping her country reach the final of the Cyprus Cup.
Amanda has been a member of the U23 side since 2009. Most recently she scored the winning goal against hosts Norway to secure victory in the Three Nations tournament.
Matt Beard, Liverpool Ladies manager, said: "Amanda is a great signing for us. She is an energetic central midfielder, has great feet and will be a great asset to Liverpool Ladies."
