Liverpool FC Ladies gave good signs of optimism for the future as they produced a spirited display despite losing 2-0 to a strong Doncaster Rovers Belles outfit on Sunday.
In the final game of the Women's Super League season, Matt Beard's side created some good openings but a failure to convert the chances cost them.
Beard is shaping a new-look squad for the future and he will have been encouraged by the overall performance.
Doncaster opened the scoring in the 27th minute and grabbed their second right at the end of the game.
