Portugese ace Joao Carlos Teixeira netted the winner as Liverpool U21s returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Sunday.
Alex Inglethorpe's side responded brilliantly after their first defeat of the season at Tottenham, and deservedly took the three points.
Jordon Ibe netted the other goal for the Reds but the victory was overshadowed by a late injury to Marc Pelosi after he was taken to hospital after being stretchered off the field.
Ibe scored his first ever goal for the U21s to give the Reds a 19th minute lead, latching onto Adam Morgan's cut back after good work from Teixeira.
The Baggies began the second period well and Adil Nabi levelled the scores 10 minutes after the restart when Liverpool failed to clear a corner.
But the Reds regained control of the game and a lovely pass from Suso found Teixeira who finished well to net his second of the season.
Inglethorpe's side were fully deserving of the victory but in the last minute of the game Pelosi suffered an ankle injury following a challenge from Liam O'Neil who was subsequently shown a straight red card.
Liverpool team: Ward, McLaughlin, Robinson, Sama, Coady, Pelosi (Roddan 90), Suso, Teixeira, Morgan, Adorjan, Ibe (Dunn 72).
