For the third edition of our 100 Players Who Shook the Kop spotlight, LFC curator Stephen Done reveals the main reason why Albert Stubbins should get your vote – the Beatles loved him.
Stubbins was a clinical centre-forward who thrilled fans at Anfield, notching 83 goals in 178 appearances and helping the Reds secure the 1947 league championship.
"He was central to Liverpool's great 1946-47 season - scoring vital goals," Done explained.
"He shook the Kop because he was one of those players that the fans loved to watch - they roared and cheered him and he soon had a posse of devoted fans. People came to see him.
"Even the Beatles loved him!"
