Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Joe Cole is set to play no part in tonight's Europa League third-round qualifier against FC Gomel at Anfield.
The midfielder sustained a minor hamstring injury during the away leg of the tie last week and the manager doesn't believe the 30-year-old will be fit to return to action until after Thursday night's clash.
But while Cole is set to miss out, Rodgers has an otherwise strong squad to choose from and the Northern Irishman expressed his approval at the condition of the players at his disposal.
"He's coming along," Rodgers told Liverpoolfc.com. "It's not as serious as first thought but he will probably miss out the Gomel game and be fit and ready a couple of days after that.
"It wasn't serious, just a little nick on his hamstring but apart from that everyone else is fit and some players have got some game time and some extra work in.
"Their condition is better, even though it's only a week on from the last game against Gomel, and that will stand them in good stead."
