Jonjo Shelvey was among the 15 first-team players to head out on international duty midweek, and the midfielder added his name to the scoresheet as England U21s thrashed Sweden before posting his delight on Twitter...

The biggest news of the week undoubtedly arrived on Thursday, when veteran defender Carragher announced that he will retire from football and leave Anfield at the end of the season.
As well as trending on the social media site in the aftermath of the statement, former colleagues and current teammates used Twitter to document their tributes, thoughts and memories of the No.23...





In other news, Lucas Leiva announced on Friday that he'd become the first Liverpool player to set up a Sina Weibo account - giving him a social media presence in China. At the time of writing he already had 17,000 followers...
