Academy snap up Icelandic starlet

Liverpool have revealed that Icelandic starlet Kristjan Gauti Emilsson will join the Academy on a scholarship in January 2010.

The attacking midfielder is at Icelandic champions FH Hafnarfjordur and is highly regarded.

FH Hafnarfjordur  coach Heimir Gudjonsson added: "Kristjan is very promising player and very mature for his age. I took him with the team last winter and it is not often that you see sixteen-year boy who is as good as him.

"I believe that he will stand out. He gets good help from their parents and now gets three years to prove himself. I'm certain that he can meet all the demands of playing for Liverpool."
