Simon Mignolet was on the bench as Belgium made a winning start to the 2014 World Cup as they came from behind to beat Algeria 2-1 on Tuesday at the Estadio Mineirao in Belo Horizonte.
Chelsea stopper Thibaut Courtois was given the nod to start between the posts while former Liverpool defender Carl Medjani was in the Algeria line-up.
Algeria took a shock lead after 24 minutes when Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen was penalised for a push and Sofiane Feghouli converted the penalty.
However, Belgium came back strongly in the second half to get their World Cup campaign up and running.
Substitute Marouane Fellaini equalised with a thumping header on 70 minutes and Dries Martins fired the winner 10 minutes from time.
Belgium continue their Group H challenge on Sunday when they take on Russia at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday evening at 5pm BST.
