Rickie Lambert was almost lost for words after he added another strike for England to a whirlwind week which began with him sealing a return to boyhood club Liverpool.
On Monday, it was announced that the 32-year-old had completed a switch to the Reds from Southampton following two impressive seasons in the Barclays Premier League.
He is currently with the Three Lions in Miami as they continue preparations for their World Cup quest in Brazil this summer, and featured in a friendly against Ecuador last night.
Lambert punctuated the 2-2 draw by collecting a pass on the right side and delivering a rasping drive six minutes into the second half to rack up a third goal in just five international appearances.
He said: "It was a good one - I caught it clean, looked up and saw it hit the back of the net. It's the best feeling in the world, scoring for England.
"It has been an interesting couple of years and I'm just rolling with it, to be honest.
"I'm trying to adapt to each challenge that is coming my way. I'm enjoying it more than anything. It's a dream come true. I'm enjoying every minute."
