Luis Suarez will thrive in Liverpool's Champions League return next season, predicts Jari Litmanen.
The Reds secured their return to Europe's premier competition on Sunday with their 3-2 victory at Norwich City meaning they can finish no lower than third this term.
Suarez was on target at Carrow Road taking his tally for the season so far to 30 goals, and Litmanen is looking forward to seeing him continue that kind of form in Europe in 2014-15.
Litmanen told Liverpoolfc.com: "He is a goalscoring machine and very-well known, not only now here in England but in the whole world.
"Personally, as a fan, I want all of the top players playing at the highest level - and Suarez is one of the most dangerous strikers in the world.
"He is a player who can create something from nothing and he is really, really important for Liverpool."
Litmanen was back at Anfield for Monday's 'Celebration of the 96' charity game in which a team of local Liverpool legends took on a squad of the Reds' former international stars.
"It was great to be back," added the Finn. "Sometimes there was good football and good combinations...and sometimes you could see some of the boys had not played for a while!
"It was a great day. It was really nice to play at Anfield again, see former teammates and also Liverpool legends - players I looked up to.
"The reason we were here was, of course, for Hillsborough and I think it's been a great day for everyone."
He added: "It's been a great week. Liverpool won at Norwich and now they have a great chance of the title, then there was this game - a 45,000 sell out. It was unbelievable."
