Ahead of Liverpool's crucial Europa League clash against Zenit St Petersburg we take a look back at some of the greatest European games Anfield has witnessed.

Nothing beats seeing the Kop awash with Red and rocking to its foundations as the atmosphere inside the ground approaches fever pitch on a European night.

Every fan has their own favourite match and plenty agree that particular games will forever live longer in the memories of Kopites than others.

So we chose a panel of Liverpoolfc.com staff and tasked them with drawing up and ordering the best 10.

From Bill Shankly's era through to Rafael Benitez's reign, the list is sure to get you in the mood for another huge Anfield clash against Zenit on Thursday.

Olympiakos and Barca stand out for me. Olympiakos was the best match I have ever been to for atmosphere.
