Liverpool will equal the Premier League record for most consecutive victories if they beat Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Reds are already on a club-record run of 17 successive triumphs and one more would see them match Manchester City's top-flight benchmark of 18 - set during their 2017-18 title-winning campaign.

Jürgen Klopp's Premier League leaders head into the match against arch-rivals United having won their last eight away league games.

Liverpool have won 19 times at Old Trafford in the league. On four of those occasions the Reds have gone on to lift the title - 1963-64, 1978-79, 1981-82 and in 1989-90.

Klopp's side have lost only once in the last eight meetings with United - at Old Trafford two seasons ago.

Should the Reds take all three points, it will be the first time ever that they have won their first five away matches of a league season.

United have lost just two of the last 18 encounters at Old Trafford in all competitions, drawing three and winning 13.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have taken just nine points from their opening eight games this season - their worst tally at this stage of a campaign since 1989.

Twelve goals have been scored by Liverpool substitutes against Manchester United in league football. Only Stoke City (13) have conceded more to Reds players coming off the bench, with Fulham also 12.

Mohamed Salah has scored at Old Trafford before - in Egypt's 1-1 draw against New Zealand during the 2012 Olympics.

The Reds have scored in all but two of their last 11 league visits to Old Trafford.

Liverpool are currently unbeaten in 12 away league games since the defeat across Manchester at the Etihad in January.

Klopp's men have lost just one of the last 47 league games and two of the last 54. They have taken 124 points from a possible 141.
