Liverpool travel to Crystal Palace on Saturday seeking to hand boss Jürgen Klopp a positive result on his 100th Premier League game in charge and consolidate a place in the top four.

Victory in the weekend's early kick-off would move the Reds up to second and put the pressure on their rivals in the race for a Champions League spot.

Liverpool have had mixed results against Palace in recent years - here's how Klopp's side have fared in the last five meetings with the Eagles...

1. Sadio scores, Robertson stars

Sadio Mane scored his fourth goal in seven career games against Crystal Palace to hand Liverpool their first win of the 2017-18 Premier League season following an opening-day draw at Watford.

Left-back Andy Robertson made an impressive LFC debut following his summer switch from Hull City, providing two brilliant crosses from which Joel Matip and Mane should have scored, before the latter eventually stabbed in a 73rd-minute winner.

Scotland international Robertson created more goalscoring chances (three) and had more touches (134) than any other Liverpool player on the pitch.

2. Benteke returns to haunt Anfield

The Kop gave Christian Benteke a well-earned round of applause at the full-time whistle. Unfortunately, the big Belgian had just scored a brace for Crystal Palace to turn the game.

The former Liverpool striker's goalscoring exploits were not totally unexpected as he'd netted five goals in his previous three Premier League games against the Reds at Anfield.

The defeat left Klopp's side third in the race for the Champions League places, two points ahead of fourth-placed Manchester City.

3. Reds rearguard lead from the front

Matip scored his debut goal for the Reds as Klopp's men secured a fifth win in six league games to move level on points with Premier League leaders Man City.

Fellow defender Dejan Lovren joined Matip on the scoresheet as both Liverpool centre-backs netted in the same league game for the first time since 1968.

It was also the eighth time the Reds had scored four or more goals in a Premier League game in 2016.

4. 10-man Reds grab last-gasp victory

James Milner was sent off (62 mins) in a Premier League game for only the second time in his career but a depleted Liverpool dominated this clash at Selhurst Park.

A last-gasp penalty from Benteke secured a dramatic victory against his future employers as the Reds came from behind with 10 men to win for the very first time.

Man of the Match Adam Lallana ran further than anyone on the pitch to help compensate for Milner's absence and in possession had a passing accuracy of 92 per cent.

5. Klopp run brought to a halt

Despite Liverpool registering 13 first-half shots - the second-highest in the Premier League at that point in the season - Alan Pardew's Eagles inflicted a first defeat of the Klopp era.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss succeeded Brendan Rodgers in the Anfield dugout in October and had taken the Reds on a six-match unbeaten run.
