FC Porto warmed up for Tuesday's Champions League tie at Anfield with a fourth consecutive win by beating Sporting CP 2-1 on Friday night.

Sergio Conceicao’s team suffered a 5-0 reversal at the hands of Liverpool in the first leg of their last-16 clash in February, with the sides set to meet again on Merseyside.

Porto’s response since the Reds’ rout at Estadio do Dragao has been emphatic.

Just four days later, they secured a 5-0 victory of their own against Rio Ave, before away wins at Estoril (3-1) and Portimonense (5-1) and most recently the success over rivals Sporting.

Ivan Marcano and Yacine Brahimi got the crucial goals in either half to settle the top-of-the-table encounter in Porto’s favour.

Conceicao’s men therefore hold a five-point lead at the summit of the Primeira Liga.
