Divock Origi scored from long range in Wolfsburg's 1-1 draw with Stuttgart on Saturday, while Daniel Sturridge made his first start for West Bromwich Albion.

On-loan Liverpool striker Origi curled a right-footed effort into the bottom corner from 25 yards to give his side the lead in their Bundesliga fixture, but Mario Gomez's equaliser on the hour meant the points were shared.

Meanwhile, Sturridge - who joined West Brom until the end of the season last week - played 62 minutes of the Baggies' 3-2 defeat to Southampton at The Hawthorns.

Marko Grujic enjoyed an excellent afternoon's work as Cardiff City solidified their spot in the Championship play-off places with an impressive 4-1 win at Leeds United, but Harry Wilson's debut for Hull City ended in a 2-1 reverse to Preston North End. Wilson came off the bench with 20 minutes left at Deepdale.

Ovie Ejaria and Ryan Kent both played the full 90 minutes in defeats for Sunderland and Bristol City to Ipswich Town and Bolton Wanderers respectively. Jon Flanagan was an unused substitute for Bolton.

Elsewhere, Connor Randall started Hearts' 1-0 victory over St Johnstone, while Pedro Chirivella and Taiwo Awoniyi featured in losses for Willem II and Royal Excel Mouscron.
