Lovren: Being Liverpool captain was an honour
Dejan Lovren gave an emotional description of the experience of captaining Liverpool in Sunday's thriller with Manchester City – one he 'will never forget'.
The centre-back was handed the armband by Jürgen Klopp for a game that delivered on the pre-match expectations as the Reds claimed a sensational 4-3 win over the previously unbeaten Premier League leaders.
It was an honour Lovren was delighted to accept on a day that will be remembered fondly for years to come. “It was a dream come true,” he told Liverpoolfc.com.
“It was something I will never forget in my life. Maybe only once I will wear it but that’s enough. It’s a great honour to represent a club like Liverpool.”
