Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are in the final three-man shortlist for the CAF African Player of the Year award.

The attackers were originally named among the 30 nominees for the prize – and the contenders have now been whittled down to the two forwards and Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The winner will be revealed at a ceremony in Ghana on January 4, 2018.

A combination of votes from head coaches and technical directors of CAF’s national teams, members of the organisation’s technical and development committee, and a panel of media experts will decide the recipient of the accolade.
