Dominic Solanke came off the bench to make his England debut and Joe Gomez made an assured first start as Gareth Southgate's side played out a goalless draw with Brazil at Wembley on Tuesday night.

Philippe Coutinho played the opening 67 minutes and was denied a goal by a fine save from Joe Hart, before being replaced by Chelsea star Willian. Roberto Firmino appeared on 75 minutes when he came on for Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus.

Solanke came off the bench in the 74th minute and came close to scoring with a late chance at the back post. Gomez was outstanding during his 90 minute outing and Liverpool’s No.12 was named the Vauxhall England Man of the Match.

Ben Woodburn made his first start for Wales as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Panama in a friendly in Cardiff. The 18-year-old played the opening 71 minutes of the encounter while goalkeeper Danny Ward played the entire 90 minutes.

Alberto Moreno featured for the second 45 minutes as Spain let a 2-0 and 3-2 lead slip as they were held to a 3-3 draw in Russia. Liverpool’s No.18 replaced Jordi Alba at left-back.

Simon Mignolet played the full game as Belgium earned a 1-0 home win over Japan. On-loan Divock Origi appeared for the final 14 minutes off the bench.

Emre Can played the opening 83 minutes at right-back as Germany played out a 2-2 draw with France.

Georginio Wijnaldum remained on the bench as the Netherlands won 3-0 away in Romania.

Harry Wilson played the full game for Wales U21s as they were held to a goalless draw by nine man Romania at Bangor City FC. The Liverpool youngster was lively throughout and went close to scoring on three occasions, firing one effort inches wide.

U23s captain Corey Whelan also went the full distance as the Republic of Ireland U21s lost 2-1 away to Norway. Academy goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher was an unused substitute.
