Sadio Mane 'looked so good' in training this week that Jürgen Klopp could not leave the Liverpool forward out of his team to face West Ham United.

The No.19 returns to action for the Reds at London Stadium after a spell on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury picked up in the October international break.

Klopp had suggested at his pre-match press conference that Mane could be ready for ‘20/25 minutes’ – but admitted ahead of kick-off that the Senegal star showed much more at Melwood.

“He should be ready for more than 25 minutes,” said the boss.

“It looked so good and he has worked really hard. It was the first time training [with the team this week] but he did a lot in all of the other sessions.

“He could have trained earlier – it was only because we were not there that he could not train with us. He has been in normal training for around about a week – so we let him start.”
