Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have been nominated for the CAF African Player of the Year award.

The forwards were named on the 30-man shortlist for the prize on Wednesday, alongside Guinea midfielder Naby Keita, who has agreed to join the Reds from RB Leipzig in July 2018.

The winner – which will be decided via a combination of votes by head coaches and technical directors of the organisation’s national teams, members of CAF’s technical and development committee and a panel of media experts – will be announced on January 4.
