Daniel Sturridge heads back to his first club on Saturday within touching distance of a goalscoring landmark.

To find out what milestone the Liverpool striker could reach against Manchester City, as well as six more key pre-match facts from club statistician Ged Rea, read on...

Sturridge is one short of 100 goals in his club career. His late header in the Reds' 4-0 win over Arsenal before the international break was his 99th, with the first six of those coming in 32 appearances for City from 2006-09.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last five league games against City.

Their previous visit to Etihad Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw in March. James Milner, who made 203 appearances for City between 2010 and 2015, scored the Reds' goal from the penalty spot.

Roberto Firmino netted his first Liverpool goal in the Reds' 4-1 victory at the Etihad in November 2015.

Sadio Mane has found the net in each of Liverpool's opening three league games. Only one man has scored in all of the Reds' first four top-flight matches of a campaign in the last 29 seasons - Sturridge in 2013-14.

Liverpool have lost only six of the last 34 league meetings home and away, and just eight of the last 49.

Since the inception of the Premier League, the Reds have won 18 of the 40 clashes with City winning seven.
