Liverpool defender Andy Robertson scored the second international goal of his career as Scotland beat Lithuania on Friday.

The left-back, a summer arrival from Hull City, celebrated the end of a week that saw him become a father for the first time by netting a stunner to help his country to victory in Vilnius.

With the 30 minutes on the clock, Robertson took control of the ball at the edge of the box before steering a brilliant effort beyond Ernestas Setkus to put the Scots two ahead in a World Cup qualifying fixture they went on to win 3-0.

Elsewhere in Group F, Jordan Henderson captained an England team also containing new Reds signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as they beat Malta 4-0 in Ta'Qali.

The skipper played the entirety of the fixture for Gareth Southgate's side, while Jürgen Klopp's latest acquistion featured for 76 minutes. Daniel Sturridge remained on the bench throughout.

Emre Can also got a run-out for his country on Friday, making an appearance as a 79th-minute substitute as Germany beat the Czech Republic 2-1 thanks to Mats Hummels' late strike.
