With Liverpool's August fixtures completed, it is time to choose your first Standard Chartered Player of the Month of the new season.
A productive period for the Reds featured four wins from five games and safe passage into the Champions League group stages.
Jürgen Klopp’s side were held to a 3-3 draw at Watford on the opening day of the Premier League season, when Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah were on target.
A 2-1 victory at Hoffenheim, which included a stunning Trent Alexander-Arnold free-kick, set the foundation for progress in the play-off – and qualification was sealed with a thrilling 4-2 Anfield win that saw Emre Can net twice.
In between, there was a hard-fought success at home to Crystal Palace courtesy of Mane, who also notched during a 4-0 rout of Arsenal in L4, as did Firmino, Salah and Daniel Sturridge.
Twenty players were used in Liverpool’s competitive matches across the month – and all are eligible to be named as the team’s star individual performer in August.
