With Liverpool's 2016-17 campaign now completed, and a top four-finish secured, we decided to take a look back over the season through the eyes of a panel who were with the Reds on every step of the dramatic journey they've taken over the last year.

It was a season of progress as Jürgen Klopp – in his first full term in charge – guided the Reds into the Champions League play-off round with an impressive points haul of 76.

Along the way there were highs and lows, outstanding performances and brilliant goals before the campaign came to an end in emphatic fashion against Middlesbrough last weekend.

So, who were the standout performers? Which goals and games were the ones to really stick in the memory? And what was the best overall moment of the year?

Along with Anfield legends David Fairclough, Roy Evans and Jan Molby, we sought the views of those who kicked every ball with us in 2016-17 for a living.

Chris Bascombe (Telegraph), Melissa Reddy (Goal.com), Matt Smith (BT Sport) and Gareth Roberts (The Anfield Wrap) were joined by Liverpoolfc.com match commentator Steve Hunter in dissecting the season.
