Mignolet is called into action again, this time palming away a drive from Simon.
Woodburn embarks an incredible run beyond a handful of Sydney defenders but he is so unlucky not to finish as his scuffed effort under pressure is cleared away from in front of the line.
A let off for Liverpool as a cross from the left finds Antoniou unmarked inside the six-yard box, but he gets his attempted slot-in all wrong and the ball bounces away from goal.
Zuvela finds space inside the Liverpool box and hammers an effort towards the near post, but Mignolet makes a smart save to repell.

Half Time
Reds in strong lead at the break
Goals from Daniel Sturridge, Alberto Moreno and Roberto Firmino have given Liverpool a 3-0 lead over Sydney FC in Australia at the interval.
Now at the other end, Carney rattles the post with a drive from an angle after collecting possession at a corner.
Gerrard is sent through on goal by Sturridge's pass before going to ground under the challenge of Wilkinson...it seems a clear penalty, but the referee waves play on, much to the dismay of the Liverpool contingent inside the ANZ Stadium.
Gerrard sprays play wide right to Alexander-Arnold, who motors into the area before shooting low towards the near post, but he's denied by a save from Vukovic.
Goal
Goal! Roberto Firmino!
Liverpool finally grab a third and again Sturridge is in the thick of it.
This time, he makes space with a sweet shimmy to go beyond Zullo before crossing in the direction of Firmino inside the six-yard box.
It takes a deflection off a defender, but still reaches the Brazilian, who nudges in with his knee from close range.
Sturridge's brilliant 40-yard ball switches play and puts Firmino into space. He skips into the box before striking goalwards, but he's thwarted by a stop from Vukovic.
Carney manages to get a shot in on goal from a loose ball inside the box, but it's blocked brilliantly by Gerrard.
Incredible support
That was so nearly to 3-0 as a lovely sweeping move forward sees Gerrard release Sturridge in the box. He attempts to round Vukovic, but is ultimately held up by recovering defenders and he can't manage to get his shot away.
Not a bad start in Sydney...
Goal
Goal! Alberto Moreno!
Liverpool have been absolutely dominant so far - and they duly make it 2-0 with a wonderfully crafted goal.
Firmino collects the ball 25 yards from goal, steps inside and scoops a pass onto the top of the Sydney defence into the path of Moreno's dart into the area. The little Spaniard reaches it and prods a first-time shot into the top corner.
Reds pay their respects.
Now Sturridge has a go from the halfway line...into the hands of Vukovic.
Goal
Goal! Daniel Sturridge!
Liverpool take an early lead and it comes via the right boot of Sturridge, though it owes much to the tenacity of Woodburn.
The youngster wins the ball back high up the pitch before feeding it to Sturridge. He shimmies one way and then another, shifting it onto his right, before striking across goal and into the corner.
Nice stuff!
Oh, what a start that would have been!
With less than two minutes on the clock, Roberto Firmino hoists the ball back into the box from the left, where it is met on the half-volley by Steven Gerrard on the penalty spot...but he just gets a bit too much on it and it sails wide.
