Sadio Mane is confident that Liverpool can get back on track with a victory at Middlesbrough tomorrow night.

Sunday’s 2-2 draw with West Ham United at Anfield, coupled with last weekend’s defeat to Bournemouth, means the Reds have taken only one point from their last two Premier League games.

Jürgen Klopp’s side began their clash with the Hammers strongly, dominating the opening exchanges and taking the lead in the fifth minute when Adam Lallana finished smartly after collecting Mane’s cross.

But goals from Dimitri Payet and Michail Antonio ensured the visitors went in ahead at half-time and, although Liverpool spent much of the second period in the ascendancy following Divock Origi's equaliser shortly after the break, they were unable to force a winner.

Nevertheless, while Mane admitted there was a sense of frustration in the home dressing room after the game, he sees no reason why the Reds cannot get back to winning ways at the Riverside Stadium.

“I think honestly, these kind of moments can happen in football,” the Senegal international told Liverpoolfc.com.

“I think if you look back at the game then we should have won, because we created many chances and scored two goals, but [also] conceded two. I think we are on a good way and we will try to do our best for the next game and to win it.

“Everybody was a little bit disappointed, because we should have won the game. But don’t forget we have many games so we have to concentrate and focus on the next ones and try to win. I know it was not easy for us, but it can happen in football.”

Mane also insisted that the mood around Melwood remains ‘good’, despite the Bournemouth and West Ham results.

“We are football professionals, we know this kind of moment can happen. I think it’s normal - in the dressing room everybody is quite the same,” the No.19 added.

“We have another important game on Wednesday, so at the moment everybody is looking forward to this game. We will do our best to win.”

Boro sit three points above the relegation zone following their 1-0 defeat to Mane’s former club Southampton on Sunday.

And when asked what he expects from Aitor Karanka’s team, the 24-year-old replied: “What I’m expecting now is to go there and win the game.

“For us that’s the most important thing and we’ll try our best to do it.”
