Bournemouth v Liverpool: Live matchday blog

Liverpool suffered their second defeat of the season as they were beaten 4-3 by Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, thanks to a stoppage-time Nathan Ake goal.

Klopp: “We have to accept it and learn from it. We will do that for sure and everything will be good again.”

Klopp: “We opened the door, but Bournemouth had to run through it – and they did it.”

Jürgen Klopp: “In all our good moments it was pretty clear we were the better side today…2-0 up but then already we hadn’t played too well and I didn’t like it, so I told the boys at half-time. At two-up the game is not done. We were too static in our passing.”

Full Time

It's all over at the Vitality Stadium and Liverpool suffer their second loss of the season as they go down 4-3 to Bournemouth.

The Reds held a two-goal lead at the break thanks to strikes from Sadio Mane and Divock Origi, but Callum Wilson's penalty got one back for the hosts.

Emre Can restored the visitors' two-goal lead, but efforts from Ryan Fraser and Steve Cook levelled up the game before Nathan Ake pounced in injury-time to win it for the Cherries.

93

Goal for Bournemouth - Nathan Ake

Liverpool are behind in stoppage time as Karius spills Cook's shot from the edge of the area and Ake turns in the rebound.

91

Lallana bounds into space on the edge of the box and shoots left-footed but it arrows wide of the post.

90

Origi controls a knockdown in the box, spins and shoots - but he hooks it over.

90

Five minutes of added time to be played.

87

Yellow Card

Emre Can is shown a yellow for a challenge on Ryan Fraser.

81

Bournemouth almost go and take the lead as Afobe uses his strength to hold off Lovren before thumping at goal, but Karius deflects it over the crossbar

77

Goal for Bournemouth - Steve Cook

And incredibly, the home side are level. Liverpool fail to deal with a free-kick into the box, Wilshere crosses, Cook controls and strikes beyond Karius from 12 yards out.

76

Goal

Goal for Bournemouth - Ryan Fraser

The hosts reduce Liverpool's lead once again as Fraser collects the ball just inside the Reds' box at the end of a counter-attack and curls low into the bottom corner.

75

Substitution

Last change for the hosts and Gosling goes off to be replaced by Afobe.

72

Wow, how close was that?!

Liverpool think they have a fourth as Boruc carries Milner's inswinging corner towards his own line - but it's not given by the tightest of margins by the goal-line technology.

70

Karius pushes a blast from Fraser over the bar as Bournemouth threaten. This game isn't done yet.

69

Substitution

Liverpool make their first change and it's a welcome return to action for Adam Lallana.

He replaces Sadio Mane, who looked in a little discomfort after pulling up following a run. Let's hope it's not too serious.

64

GOAL! EMRE CAN!

The Reds' two-goal cushion is restored with a thumper from Can.

It owed much to Mane, who won the ball back from Ibe before speeding into the box and cutting it back for Can on the edge of the box, who slams into the top corner with a side-footer.

61

Can picks out Clyne's run into the area with a pass across the edge of the area; he takes a touch before drilling over the bar.

56

Penalty

Goal for Bournemouth

Callum Wilson sends Loris Karius the wrong way from the spot and the hosts are back in this game. 2-1 now.

55

Substitution

Penalty to Bournemouth as substitute Ryan Fraser goes to ground under a challenge from James Milner.

53

Yellow Card

It's Jordan Henderson's turn to go in the book now in this flurry of bookings. He sees yellow for a trip on Junior Stanislas.

50

Yellow Card

Now Cherries captain Simon Francis picks up a booking after a late challenge on James Milner.

48

Yellow Card

Jack Wilshere is cautioned by the referee.

46

Substitution

Bournemouth made a change at the break and ex-Red Jordon Ibe is on in place of Joshua King.

Here's the tale of the first half in stats...

Half Time

So far, so good...

The Reds hold a deserved two-goal lead at the break thanks to goals from Sadio Mane and Divock Origi.

40

That man again...

36

Bournemouth threaten for the first time as King finds space inside the Reds box, but his drive across goal is blocked by Karius.

From the resulting corner, the hosts claim a spot-kick when Ake goes down under a challenge from Firmino, but the referee waves play on much to their ire.

27

Oh Mane, Mane...

22

Goal

GOAL! DIVOCK ORIGI!

It's two in two minutes for Liverpool as Divock Origi grabs his third goal in as many games

The visitors win the ball back inside their own half and Henderson sprays it down the right for Origi to chase. Boruc thinks he can get there first, but Divock's speed is too much as he beats the goalkeeper to the ball and goes round him.

He still has a lot to do from a tight angle on the right, but he brilliantly curls into the unguarded goal with a magnificent finish.

Lovely, lovely, lovely stuff.

20

Goal

GOAL! SADIO MANE!

Well, it'd been coming - and Liverpool finally take a deserved lead.

Can's brilliant pass over the top picked out Mane's run inside from the right. He outpaced Nathan Ake to beat the Cherries defender to the ball before touching it beyond Boruc.

17

Can heads down for Firmino in the box, but his half-volley crashes against a defender.

14

Corner

Liverpool win four corners in a row, but can't make the pressure pay. The bright start continues, however.

10

A lovely Liverpool move carves open Bournemouth as Henderson finds Clyne's burst down the right. He slips a dangerous ball across the face of goal to Origi, but he gets his footing all wrong and somehow pushes wide of the post when he seemed certain to score.

7

In morning important matters, Liverpool have started strongly here and have hemmed the hosts back in the early exchanges, without yet testing Artur Boruc.

CONDITIONS UPDATE

Don't be fooled - it's a bitterly, bitterly cold day here on the south coast, despite the glorious sunshine. My fingers are already going numb in the press box.
