A 2-1 result at Anfield, secured courtesy of a Daniel Sturridge double, saw off Spurs on Tuesday night and sent the Reds into the quarter-finals – where they will meet Leeds United on home soil.

24 hours after the Reds navigated their way into the EFL Cup last eight, the quarter-final draw paired them with Championship outfit Leeds.

The tie – the clubs’ first meeting in more than seven years – will take place at Anfield in the week commencing November 28.

Jürgen Klopp admitted his side have ‘unfinished business’ in the tournament, which they were within a penalty shootout of winning last season.

But, at the same time, the boss explained following the defeat of Spurs that there is plenty of work to be done before thoughts of returning to the final can be considered.

Divock Origi felt the Reds showed ‘big heart’ to continue their EFL Cup campaign at Tottenham’s expense, as the No.27 reflected on Tuesday’s encounter.

“The coach told us just to play with our qualities and that he believed in us 100 per cent, and we have a lot of quality in the group,” he said.
