Divock Origi says Jürgen Klopp's faith in his abilities is helping him to stay patient as he waits for a chance in the Premier League this season.

The Belgian has two starts and as many goals to his name so far this term, though both have come in the early rounds of the EFL Cup.

Meanwhile, his minutes on the pitch in the league have been restricted to substitute appearances against Arsenal, Burnley, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Swansea City.

And, though the 21-year-old admits it is not easy to stay calm as he targets further opportunities, he has no doubts that his coach believes in him.

"I’ve started both matches of the League Cup, and I scored in both games, Liverpool have won almost every game," he told HLN.

"A manager never changes his winning team. It does not matter to me. Klopp believes in me and says I have to be patient.

"He asked me to stay calm, which is not easy for a footballer. I want to play and be the decisive player that I was last season.

"I scored 10 goals in no time [so] everything can turn quickly in football."
