With less than 24 hours until Liverpool are back in action against Swansea City, it was another busy day on Friday as the squad geared up for their latest outing in the Premier League.

Here is a summary of the latest Reds-related updates…

Our top three stories…

Our photographers were back at Melwood this afternoon, snapping away as Liverpool undertook one of their final training sessions before tomorrow’s game with Swansea. You can view in the gallery in full here.

Adam Lallana’s outstanding form was rewarded today as the midfielder picked up the Standard Chartered Player of the Month award for September.

“It is nice to get the award but I think it could have gone to anyone in the whole squad," he told us. "We have started the season very well – it’s great to see.”

Ahead of the trip to Wales, we caught up with Georginio Wijnaldum at Melwood for a chat, in which he explained to us just how high confidence is within the Reds’ camp at the moment.

On this day in LFC history…

Back in 1981, Ian Rush notched the first of 346 goals for Liverpool by netting in a European Cup first-round victory over Oulu Palloseura at Anfield. Indeed, the Reds were in fine fettle on that night, adding a further six strikes via Kenny Dalglish, Terry McDermott (2), Ray Kennedy, David Johnson and Mark Lawrenson to secure a 7-0 win.

The LFCTV GO video not to miss…

It wasn't just photos we took at Melwood today - we have video of the training session, too. LFCTV GO subscribers can watch it below...

Call ups for Ovie and Trent...

It's fair to assume life is good right now for talented LFC Academy prospect Ovie Ejaria - and it got a little bit sweeter for the 18-year-old on Friday when he was called up to England U20 squad for a tournament with Germany, the Netherlands and the United States in October.

Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold has been added to the Three Lions' U19 squad for their matches with Croatia and Bulgaria.

From Rio to Anfield…

Liverpool FC celebrated their Olympic and Paralympic fans at the club’s first two home fixtures of the season, inviting a number of the 2016 Games competitors to receive well-earned applause from the Kop.
