It was another busy day of Liverpool news on Thursday as Jürgen Klopp hosted his pre-Swansea City press conference at Melwood and Marko Grujic was nominated for a special award.

Divock Origi will be assessed ahead of the trip to Wales this weekend after picking up a foot problem, the manager revealed as he provided an injury update ahead of the clash with Swansea.

On this day in LFC history…

The legendary Bill Shankly passed away on September 29, 1981, aged 68.

Having galvanised the struggling club following his appointment in 1959, the Scot guided the team to three league championships, a first ever FA Cup triumph and glory in the UEFA Cup, revolutionising every aspect of how Liverpool was run in the process.

His impact continues to be felt to this day and the iconic tributes of the Shankly Gates and statue at Anfield help to ensure his legacy lives on.

Grujic a Golden Boy…

Marko Grujic has been included in a 40-strong shortlist for the prestigious 2016 Golden Boy award, which recognises the best players under the age of 21 in European football during the calendar year.
