Team news: Matip returns for Reds at Mainz
Joel Matip returns to the Liverpool starting line-up for today’s final pre-season friendly against FSV Mainz 05.
Centre-back Matip has been out of action since the Reds’ victory at Wigan Athletic on July 17 but takes his place in Jürgen Klopp’s team at the Opel Arena.
Klopp has made nine changes from Saturday’s 4-0 win over Barcelona for the match against his former club, with only Emre Can and Adam Lallana retaining their places from the side that started at Wembley Stadium.
Captain Jordan Henderson, Alberto Moreno, Divock Origi and Marko Grujic are among those players who return to the team.
