Adam Lallana and James Milner both featured as a stoppage time goal earned Russia a share of the spoils as they drew 1-1 with England in Euro 2016.

Liverpool’s No.20 was a lively figure as he went the full distance, coming close to scoring on numerous occasions.

Milner made a late appearance when he replaced Raheem Sterling in the 84th minute, while Daniel Sturridge, Jordan Henderson and Nathaniel Clyne remained on the bench.

England were the better side in the first-half but due to a combination of some fine saves from Russia stopper Igor Akinfeev and several guilt-edged misses it remained goalless at the break.

Russia came more into the game and had chances themselves in the second period, but after Wayne Rooney’s effort was palmed onto the bar the breakthrough finally arrived after 73 minutes when Eric Dier curled home a quite brilliant free-kick.

However, Roy Hodgson’s side were denied victory when a last-gasp header from Vasili Berezutski saw Russia claim a point, although Denis Glushakov claimed the final touch.

England now face Wales in Lens on Thursday.
