There were mixed emotions for a trio of Reds players who both saw action during international friendlies on Sunday.

Danny Ward appeared as a second-half substitute as Wales lost 3-0 in Sweden on Sunday afternoon.

After trailing to an Emil Forsberg goal, Chris Coleman gave the Liverpool stopper another cap when he came on at half-time in place of Wayne Hennessey.

Ward gave a good account of himself and made some decent stops, but was unable to prevent Mikael Lustig making it 2-0 on 57 minutes.

A third goal arrived on 87 minutes when John Guidetti beat Ashley Williams and found the net despite Ward's best efforts to keep it out.

Joe Allen remained on the bench.

The Reds duo will begin their Euro 2016 campaign with Wales on Saturday June 11 when they meet Martin Skrtel's Slovakia in their opening Group B game.

Marko Grujic and Divock Origi both saw action for Serbia and Belgium on Sunday evening.

Grujic, who was Jürgen Klopp's first signing as Liverpool manager, will meet up with the Reds squad during the return of pre-season in July.

He played the opening half as a late goal helped Serbia claim a 1-1 draw with England's opening Euro 2016 opponents Russia.

Origi appeared as an 80th minute substitute as Belgium won a five-goal thriller when they edged out Norway 3-2.

Christian Benteke and Simon Mignolet remained on the bench.
