It was a 'thrilling' feeling for Allan Rodrigues de Souza when the Liverpool youngster found the net for his country in Brazil U20s' win over France on Sunday.

The midfielder made the decisive impact during the youth international in South Korea, where his well-taken goal secured a 2-1 result for the South Americans.

After using his body strength to get in behind the French defence, Allan quickly composed himself and sent a clinical finish underneath the goalkeeper with his left foot.

And the highly-rated 19-year-old, who joined the Reds in September 2015 and has since been out on loan at SJK in Finland and Sint-Truidense in Belgium, was so proud of the feat.

“It’s a great feeling,” he commented after the game.

“We’ve been working hard since we were kids to have the chance to represent our country. My family and I are very proud of it.

“The feeling of scoring a goal is hard to describe – every kid who plays football dreams of that and I’ve had the chance to experience that feeling on the pitch. It was thrilling.

“We work to stay as calm as possible during the game and have self-control in front of goal. I’m happy I’ve managed to score that goal.”
