With Kenny Dalglish celebrating his 65th birthday today, many Liverpool fans around the world will likely pause to remember their favourite moment involving the man simply known as 'The King'.

Our choice takes you back to May 1978 and Wembley on a night when the transfer fee invested in the Scot handsomely paid dividends and he claimed the first medal of what would become a huge collection.

In attempting to retain the European Cup by overcoming Bruges, Bob Paisley’s Reds had been frustrated until a trademark example of Dalglish’s technique made the difference on 65 minutes.

As he moved onto a through ball from the right side of the box and was faced by a goalkeeper rushing out to block, the forward delicately lifted a finish over his opponent and into the far corner to seal a 1-0 win.

That piece of history and the highlights of Dalglish’s display in front of more than 90,000 people in London feature in our free clip above, as we wish the legend a very happy birthday.
