Ahead of tonight's Anfield meeting with Exeter City in the FA Cup third-round replay, here are 14 key facts you should know about the game from club statistician Ged Rea…

The two sides had met previously once in the FA Cup before this tie. Liverpool won 3-1 in the fourth round in 1950 on their way to a Wembley meeting with Arsenal.

The other four meetings came in the League Cup, with the Reds winning them all.

The Reds are seven-times winners of this competition, last lifting the trophy in 2006 after beating West Ham United on penalties in Cardiff.

The last time the Reds lost to a team at least three divisions below them in the FA Cup was in 1959 when non-league Worcester City won 2-1.

The last Liverpool hat-trick in the FA Cup was scored by Yossi Benayoun against non-league Havant & Waterlooville in the fourth round in 2008.

No Liverpool player has ever scored a hat-trick against Exeter.

In the first meeting of this tie, Christian Benteke captained Liverpool for the first time and in doing so became the fifth man to wear the Reds armband under Jürgen Klopp.

Of the 14 players who appeared at St James Park, 13 were making their FA Cup debut for the club. Only Jose Enrique had played for Liverpool in the competition before.

Meanwhile, Sheyi Ojo and Pedro Chirivella became the second and fourth youngest players respectively to play for the club in the FA Cup. Ojo was 18 years, 203 days and Chirivella 18 years, 230 days.

The team selected by Klopp for the first game in Devon had a combined total of 135 appearances for Liverpool - with Enrique having 96 of those. Only he and Benteke had played for the Reds more than four times.

It later proved to be the second youngest starting XI sent out by Liverpool in the club's history (average 22 years, 319 days).

The last time Exeter appeared against a Merseyside team at this stage they lost a replay to Everton in 2000 after a goalless home draw.

Since the first meeting at St James Park, Exeter have drawn 1-1 at Morecambe and won 3-1 at Leyton Orient.

Tom Nichols, who scored against the Reds 12 days ago, has netted in three of the Grecians' last four games.
