Liverpool will step out onto the Anfield turf this evening firmly focused on taking a crucial step towards lifting silverware this season and rewarding the club's loyal fanbase, according to Nathaniel Clyne.

The Reds meet AFC Bournemouth in a Capital One Cup fourth round tie on Wednesday with a clear objective in mind, as they aim to book a place in the quarter-final of the tournament.

“We set out trying to win every single tournament that we are in, so we want to try and get the win, progress to the next round and hopefully we can go all of the way in the competition,” Clyne told Liverpoolfc.com.

“We want to keep pushing to try and finish as high as we can in the league and hopefully we can bring home a trophy for the fans.”

Meanwhile, Clyne is confident Liverpool will soon start turning draws into wins after three successive stalemates kicked off the Jürgen Klopp era at Anfield.

The full-back, who arrived at Anfield from Southampton in the summer, feels signs of progression have already been noticeable in the German's trio of matches at the helm.

Clyne said: “I’m settling in well. I’ve settled in with the players and also with the team.

“I think Jürgen Klopp is a good appointment and we are working on getting better as a team. You can see so far with the performances that we have done well, and we were just unfortunate not to get the three points at the weekend.

“We got the first goal and were looking to keep hold of the lead but unfortunately we gave away a sloppy goal which lead to a draw, but in our next league game hopefully we can go and get the three points.”
