It was a great night for two of Liverpool's internationals as Danny Ings made his England debut and Martin Skrtel helped Slovakia secure qualification for Euro 2016.

The latter played the full 90 minutes and captained his country to a 4-2 win in Luxembourg, meaning they join Group C winners Spain at the showpiece tournament in France.

Meanwhile, Ings was handed a maiden appearance for the Three Lions and Adam Lallana provided an assist as Roy Hodgson's team beat Lithuania 3-0 in their final group game.

Lallana played for the opening 67 minutes, while his Anfield teammate was introduced as a substitute for Harry Kane in the 59th minute.

After Ross Barkley had opened the scoring, Liverpool’s No.20 produced a delightful flick to set up Kane, whose effort was deflected into his own net by Lithuania stopper Giedrius Arlauskis.

Ings almost marked his debut with a goal on 71 minutes when his low drive was brilliantly kept out by Arlauskis, before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made it 3-0.

Nathaniel Clyne was an unused substitute.
