Kenny Dalglish has told Liverpool supporters to ‘fasten their seatbelts’ and enjoy the journey they are about to embark on with Jürgen Klopp.

Dalglish, the man Kopites call the King, has given his seal of approval to the appointment of the former Borussia Dortmund boss.

After Klopp was unveiled to the media at a packed Anfield on Friday, Dalglish insisted he was impressed by the German’s plans to make Liverpool successful again.

Dalglish said: “He sounded very, very impressive. I think supporters will need to fasten their seatbelts - they'll really, really enjoy him.

“He seems like someone who's not in love with himself, which the Liverpool supporters can relate to, and I'm sure they'll take him to their hearts.

“If they've heard the press conference where he's described himself as 'the normal one', that'll do them fine because they regard themselves as being pretty normal.”
