Luis Garcia expects all friendships to be put aside when Liverpool FC Legends take on Manchester United in Stockholm next week.

Stars who contributed to the rich history of a famous rivalry during their playing days will have the chance to catch up and recall their many battles down the years ahead of hostilities resuming.

But, while there is likely to be a warm atmosphere ahead of kick-off, Garcia insists no quarter will be given when the players take to the pitch.

The Spaniard, who featured in the LFC Legends' first official game against Real Madrid earlier this summer, is readying himself for a hard-fought encounter with the Red Devils.

"I'm sure [it will be intense]. No-one wants to lose these kind of games," he told Liverpoolfc.com.

"When we arrive there, we're going to meet them and probably have dinner together but once we're on the pitch there's no friendship at all and everybody wants to win.

"It's one of the best games you can find in the world and of course the lads are really looking forward to it."

The former Reds No.10 also revealed how excitement is building among fans ahead of the fixture in the Swedish capital.

"I'm already receiving a lot of tweets telling me about the game," he enthused.

"It's a great experience to share with the lads again, to spend some time [together], to share some stories, meet the fans in Sweden and enjoy a great game against a big rival."
