Joe Gomez spoke of his pride at helping Liverpool achieve a third consecutive clean sheet in the Barclays Premier League, but felt they could have taken all three points at Arsenal.

The Reds turned in a dominant display in the opening 45 minutes at the Emirates, with Philippe Coutinho twice striking against the frame of the goal and Christian Benteke also going close.

The Gunners posed more of a threat after half-time, but Gomez and his teammates stood firm to claim a 0-0 draw.

Afterwards, the man-of-the-match candidate said: “We had some great chances. To come here to the Emirates, away from home, and dominate the way we did in the first half, it was disappointing not to have put them away. But it was a good result in the end.”

Gomez retained his position in Liverpool’s left-back berth for the clash in London, and despite being just 18 years of age, produced yet another assured performance.

He added: “I’m enjoying it. To get our third clean sheet in a row is great for us as a back four and for Simon [Mignolet] as well.

“Simon showed his quality, especially with deflected [shots], so we’re lucky to have him behind us. Hopefully we can continue that and start getting some more goals as well.”
