Sheyi Ojo can't wait to get started at Wolverhampton Wanderers after agreeing a season-long youth loan deal with the Championship club.

The 18-year-old forward will spend the 2015-16 campaign with Kenny Jackett's side as he looks to apply the skills he has learned at the Academy in a senior setting.

Wolves narrowly missed out on a play-off spot last term and are sure to be targeting a return to the Barclays Premier League this year.

Ojo is hoping that he can link up with the West Midlands club's array of talented attackers to help make that dream a reality.

He told their official website: "Brendan Rodgers told me that he wants me to get more experience and Wolves is a great place to do that.

"It's a club moving forward, trying to get promotion. I'm just really happy to be a part of it; hopefully I can make a good impression and do well this season.

"It's a really good club. It's got great facilities. All of the players are nice, they have welcomed me to the club, and the staff are brilliant as well.

"I've heard a lot about the attacking force with Benik Afobe and Nouha Dicko so I'm looking forward to linking up with them. Hopefully we can create some problems and score some goals.

"Everything's going well, I'm just looking forward to starting the season this weekend."

Ojo's last act in a Liverpool shirt before his temporary switch was to score the winning goal in Sunday's 2-1 friendly success against Swindon Town at the County Ground.

And the England U19 international was pleased to get a run-out for the first team prior to departing.

"It was really good. I was happy to get some minutes," he continued.

"The manager told me to go on and try to make a difference and luckily I was able to score the winner, so it was a good feeling.

"But now my concentration's fully focused on Wolves and hopefully I can make a good impression. I'm really excited."

Ojo previously experienced life in the English second tier during a short stay at Wigan Athletic last season.

As a result he is fully aware of the physical challenge awaiting him during his year at Molineux, though that hasn't dampened his enthusiasm.

"If I look back at my time with Wigan, it's definitely helped me both mentally and physically," he said.

"I think this time around I'll be better prepared for the loan. The Championship's very physical, you've got to be ready for anything.

"Anything can happen. There are a lot of challenges, I usually get tackled quite a lot and create loads of fouls.

"I've got to be prepared for that but I'm just looking forward to my time here."
