Passionate Liverpool fan Da Wei lies paralyzed from the neck down surrounded by medical equipment in a Shanghai hospital bed, but he will be cheering on the Reds against Manchester United on Sunday.

Da Wei, 34, was involved in a horrific cycling accident in 2008 and with the help of friends, family and football he fought against the severe depression that followed.

Through the aid of computer technology he now uses eye movement to watch every Liverpool game live from the hospital. His dream is to one day stand on The Kop at Anfield, singing You'll Never Walk Alone

When Robbie Fowler visited Shanghai for a sponsor's event last month, he was moved by his story and along with Liverpool's Chinese video sponsor, PPTV, helped bring the action closer to Da Wei.

His father, along with Chinese football commentator Zhan Jun, will be at Anfield on Sunday and a PPTV film crew will enable Da Wei to stay in touch with his dad throughout the game to sample the special atmosphere.

The duo also visited Melwood prior to the match and spoke to LFC TV on Thursday when, speaking through Zhan Jun, his father  explained Da Wei's love of Liverpool.

He said: "Due to the accident Da Wei has been lying in bed for almost seven years. Liverpool are his favourite team and he doesn't want to miss anything.

"He has the same machine as Stephen Hawking and so everyday Da Wei follows the news of Liverpool and he also follows every match. His favourite player is Steven Gerrard."
