With Liverpool set to face Championship side Bournemouth in a Capital One Cup quarter-final this evening, here is a selection of pertinent facts and figures ahead of the match.

The club's overall League Cup record shows 218 games, with 131 victories, 43 draws and 44 defeats. In those fixtures, the Reds have scored 440 goals and conceded 214.

The Reds have reached this round of the competition on 19 previous occasions, winning through to the semi-finals 14 times - a record shared with Arsenal, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur.

They have also made the most final appearances, with 11, and lifted the trophy more times than any other team - eight.

The travellers have never lost to Bournemouth in their history, having won three and drawn two of five meetings - all in the FA Cup. The Reds have scored 11 and conceded three in the process.

Liverpool have lost only one of their last seven away games in the League Cup - at Manchester United last season.

The last Championship team to beat the Reds in this competition was Crystal Palace, back in 2005. Northampton Town were the last lower division team to eliminate Liverpool, doing so at Anfield in September 2010 on penalties.

Liverpool have scored in all but two of their last 51 League Cup games - a sequence going back to 1998.

With his next goal in the competition, Steven Gerrard would become only the ninth Liverpool player to reach double figures in the League Cup.

Rickie Lambert has scored five goals in his career against Bournemouth, including on this ground in 2008 while with Bristol Rovers and three years later as a Southampton player.

Adam Lallana was on target in a 2-0 Southampton win over the Cherries in the League Cup in 2010.

This is Bournemouth's best ever run in the competition, surpassing 1962 and 1964 when they reached the fourth round.

Eddie Howe's side are unbeaten in the last 12 games in all competitions since losing 2-0 at Derby County at the end of September, with nine wins and three draws.

In all 13 home games this season the Cherries have scored first. They have also scored in all but one of their last 12 matches - the only blemish being a goalless draw at Middlesbrough last month.

In last Saturday's home clash with Cardiff City, they took the lead after just 39 seconds and five different players scored the five goals.

They recorded their biggest ever league win earlier this season by beating Birmingham City 8-0 at St. Andrew's, scoring five times in the last 27 minutes.
