His influence on Liverpool Football Club is immeasurable, arriving to take charge in 1959 with the club languishing in the second division.
By the time of his departure in 1974, the Reds had become on the most respected and feared clubs in the land having won three first division titles, two FA Cups and one UEFA cup, with a collection of players that would go down in club folklore.
