Liverpool are assessing the injury Glen Johnson sustained against Manchester City on Monday night.

The defender picked up a thigh problem in the latter stages of the 3-1 defeat which forced him from the field and required the Reds to play the final few moments with 10 men having used all three permitted substitutes.

Following the final whistle at the Etihad Stadium, Brendan Rodgers told "I think it's his thigh muscle, so we just need to assess it.

"He feels he's maybe pulled his thigh, so we'll need to see."
