LFC celebrates Respect 4 All participants
The Liverpool FC Foundation recently hosted an awards evening at Anfield to celebrate the achievements of young people and adults from its disability sports programme, Respect 4 All.
More than 40 players were joined by their coaches, family and friends in the Reds Lounge for their end-of-season awards ceremony.
All participants were presented with a medal and certificate to reward them for their hard work and commitment during the season.
After the awards ceremony, participants enjoyed a buffet, disco and raffle with prizes including, gift cards for the official club store and LFC t-shirts, caps and much more.
The Respect 4 All programme, based at St Margaret's CE School in Aigburth and Woodchurch High School in Wirral, delivers free impairment specific multi-sport classes to more than 150 children and adults across Liverpool and Wirral every week.
The classes, which run four nights a week during school term time, cater for children (eight to 16-year-olds) and adults with severe learning difficulties, visual and physical impairment (ambulant) and wheelchair users.
Ryan Moignard, Resect 4 All Project lead, said: "I am so proud of all our Respect 4 All participants this year, their hard work and dedication has been exemplary.
"It's very important for everyone to get together to celebrate their achievements with their friends and family and share their success."
The Foundation's disability programme is one of its flagship initiatives and has been running for more than 12 years.
As well as Ability Counts, the programme includes two Respect 4 All centres in Aigburth and the Wirral, which provide free impairment-specific sports coaching for more than 150 children and adults every week with complex needs who previously wouldn't have engaged in sport.
