Liverpool midfielder Suso has hailed the club's brilliant US support after scoring a magnificent goal in the Reds 2-0 win against AC Milan in Charlotte on Saturday evening.

Having already scored with one sublime strike earlier in pre-season versus Preston, the talented Spaniard repeated the feat against the Italian giants in front of a bumper crowd at the Bank of America Stadium, after Joe Allen had given the Reds an early lead.

With a huge number of fans once again turning out to welcome their heroes and provide a fantastic atmosphere inside the stadium, Suso spoke of the team's appreciation of the fervent US support.

"It's a really nice stadium to be honest, and a great pitch as well," said Suso.

"The people, as always, have been fantastic as well. Every time we play in America the people have been brilliant, so I just want to say thank you to them, thank you for coming out and supporting us.

"We came here [to America] two years ago and the people were brilliant then as well. Now again, one more time they've been fantastic.

"Everywhere we go they're always there supporting us, they're always watching us - even in the training sessions. I just want to say thank you to them because the support has been fantastic."

Despite the 2-0 win - which was Liverpool's third Guinness International Champions Cup win in a row - the Reds had already made the final of the tournament in Miami, where a familiar foe now awaits.

Although admitting that reaching the final is great, Suso believes the Reds' main focus has been to play well and reach optimal fitness ahead of the new Premier League season.

"Playing a final is fantastic and even more so against Manchester United," added Liverpool's No.30.

"We are concentrated on trying to get fitness and hopefully, if we do things right, we will win the tournament.

"I think we've been brilliant. We have won all the games [in the ICC] and we've played really good and really competitive against some good teams.

"Now we have a final which I think we can win if we continue to do those things right. The most important thing is that we're getting fitness for the start of the Premier League."
