Jose Enrique has expressed his delight of returning to first team action, while also paying tribute to the emergence of Jon Flanagan.

In an exclusive interview to LFCTV GO subscribers, the Spanish left-back talks of his frustrations of missing out most of last season with a knee injury and why he is determined to make up for lost time, starting here on the US Tour.

"For me, the most important thing is the team and for personal reasons I want to stay fit and not have any more problems with my knee," Enrique told Liverpoolfc.com.

"We will have a lot of games this season and I want to play as much as I can.

"You have no idea how happy I am to be back because for me football is my life and it was a nightmare not being able to play last season."

Despite Enrique's injury woes, the 28-year old was happy to see the see the progress of Flanagan throughout the 2013-14 campaign:

"Flanno is the type of player you have to have in your team," he added.

"He has been one of the best players in the team and he was so impressive last season. I love Flanno as a person and I'm really happy."
